Having a proper knowledge about a subject is very important to avoid misconceptions. It is sad to know that Halal food has received a huge number of haters. On Facebook there is even a page named ‘Boycott Halal in Australia ‘which has a strength of 41,000 followers and supporters. It is difficult to understand as to why people are against Halal. There must be some confusion which needs to be cleared out. So, hoping for the best, this article might help to clear some misconceptions regarding the Halal industry.

The very first thing misinterpreted about the Halal industry is the Halal meat used for Halal food. It is assumed that the Muslim cunning chants over the meat so as to spell on those people who consumes it. But seriously there is only exaggeration in the statement. There is nothing so creepy as to what is looks like. Muslim recites slaughter in the name of God. To be specific they say “In the name of Allah “. It is only said to ensure that the animal is sacrificed only for the purpose of sustenance and no other reason.

The second misconception is also related to halal slaughter. People who are aware assume that animals are selected in very wrong inhumane and cruel way which is not at all true. We need to know and understand that in procedure of animal to be considered as Halal it is important to know that the animal was treated well whole its life . This includes that whole its life it was treated in proper environment. Also while considering any animal for Islamic slaughter it should be seen that it has live up until a certain age as prescribed in Islamic rules and principles. Animal cruelty which is actually seen in documentaries is way off limits in Islamic meaning of slaughter. In fact, it is the most sinful activity to treat animals in that manner.

It is to be noted that all the non- Muslim communities think that Halal food can only be consumed by Muslims. This is not true. Any one can eat anything they want. Who are we to say what should go in stomach and not to.  To our surprise there are many non Muslim communities who are supporting these ethical practices whether it supporting in Halal food sector or Halal Pharmaceutical market or Halal fashion scene.

Halal Food is honestly harmless . So you can see that there is no good reason not to tolerate or not like Halal food. We hope that soon the world will also accept the Halal industry as no- threat zone.
